Music Literacy and Technique Mastery
My lessons are individualized and tailored to the student’s level and personal goals. While I always include note reading, music theory, and technique with every student, I also include other genres and songs that the student enjoys. Lessons can always be tailored to focus on the student’s interests while building technique and note reading, which allows them to learn on their own beyond taking lessons.
Personalized Lesson Goals
While there are certain ideas and learning outcomes I do with all students, learning goals are tailored to the individual student’s needs and personal goals. I regularly incorporate songs and genres that the student enjoys. I also work with the student to create a learning plan based on the student’s goals, whether it be learning a specific song or getting into an orchestra program, or just getting better on their instrument
Performance and Audition Preparation
Students in my studio perform in 2-3 studio recitals every year, building confidence while showcasing progress. Many students in my studio also play in school and youth orchestras and participate in region and all-state. Audition prep helps students develop quickly on their instrument and teaches them perseverance, overcoming challenges, and builds discipline and resilience.
